Image of Prince Henry of Battenberg (1858-1896), the son-in-law of Queen Victoria. He was the husband of Princess Beatrice of the United Kingdom, the youngest child of Queen Victoria.

During the Fourth Anglo-Ashanti War, a number of British soldiers fell ill, likely due to malaria, and among them was Henry of Battenberg. Unfortunately, while returning to England, Henry succumbed to the illness and passed away on 20 January, 1896.
